AllisonI have attended this church for as long as I can remember. I have attended other churches but have never felt as at home as I do here. My pastor does not shy away from the topics that society refuses to address because it would offend people. We read out of the Bible every week because that's where the truth comes from. Our pastor often says that it does not matter what our past has been, God loves all of us and wants a relationship and that God is always with us. The sense of community we have in our church is like no other I have ever been apart of. Our potlucks are definitely the best with the most food. Those amazing ladies definitely know how to cook for an army. Lately we have had several deaths in the church but even though we were all grieving we all showed up to the funerals and comforted each other and enjoyed good food and stories.

JerryIn my younger life I was taken to church by my parents and therefore thought I was saved without actually praying for salvation. As a young adult, the pastor of Orland Congregational Church was Ron Manahan and he convinced me that I wasn't quite there yet. Driving home from work at that time I was listening to gospel music and was convicted to pray for salvation. It was a wonderful experience. By the time I got home I was starting to doubt already. So, I prayed for an answer. I opened my Bible and without actually looking placed my finger on a verse which turned out to be Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God". There is where I found assurance. I praise God for my salvation, this church, our pastor and church family.

J.D.Orland Congregational Church (OCC) is a great place to go to church because Sunday school gives the body the opportunity to study and discuss the Word. Every Sunday the Word is faithfully preached in an expositional manner either through studying a book of the Bible or through a timely topical series. OCC is also a church where there are many opportunities for people to get involved and the pastor is open to trying new ideas. I became a member of the universal church at the age of five. I was watching a mystery show with my dad and I didn't understand why the bad guys were being so mean. I asked my dad and he told me because they had dark hearts. I asked him if I had a dark heart and he said yes. Later that day, after talking with my mom, I ask Jesus to be my Savior. I now express my belonging to the universal church by going to a local church. My local church happens to be Orland Congregational Church. I hope you check us out.
